How to convert CSV to Excel
- Choose a CSV, TSV or TXT file.
- Check the preview. Change the delimiter if the columns look wrong.
- Select Convert to Excel and download the .xlsx file.
Good to know
- In Smart mode, numbers become real numbers, but values such as 00123, card-length digit strings and anything that looks like a formula stay as text, exactly as written.
- No cell is ever written as a formula.
- With "First row is a header", row 1 is bold and stays visible while you scroll.
- Dates are kept as the text in your file, so nothing is guessed or swapped between day/month formats.
- An Excel sheet holds up to 1,048,576 rows. Files up to 50 MB can be converted.
Frequently asked questions
Is my file uploaded?
No. Your browser reads the file on your device. It is not sent to Filecon's servers, and nothing is saved after you close the page.
Why are some numbers left-aligned in Excel?
They were kept as text on purpose, because turning them into numbers would change them: leading zeros would disappear and very long numbers would be rounded. Choose “Everything as text” if you want every cell kept as text.
