How to resize an image
- Choose one or more JPG, PNG or WebP images.
- Pick a quick size, or resize by percentage, width and height, or the longest side.
- Check the new size shown under the settings, then select Resize and download.
Good to know
- "Keep proportions" is on by default, so images are never stretched.
- Images aren't made bigger unless you turn on "Allow enlarging", because enlarging can't add detail.
- Big reductions are done in several smaller steps, which keeps edges smoother.
- New files are named with their size, such as photo-1600x1200.jpg.
Frequently asked questions
Are my images uploaded?
No. Your browser does the work on your device. Your images are not sent to Filecon's servers.
Is photo information like location kept?
Resized images, and compressed JPG and WebP images, are newly encoded pixels, so hidden details such as GPS location are not copied. Photos are turned the right way up first. Losslessly compressed PNG files keep their original structure.
